Aki Mitsugi was born in Fukuoka Japan in 1987.

After graduating from the University of Teacher Education Fukuoka. She has been exploring light, memory, and existence with a focus on pictorial expression, with the motif of things in her life. Since 2017, she has created twin works using expressions such as sculptures and reliefs in addition to pictorial expressions in order to deepen her consideration of the existence that emerges from relationships with others.
